Trevor  was featured as  Best Trailblazer in Reader's Digest
 Magazine's annual  Best of America list,  July 2009.
​Trevor was the subject of a feature article entitled Blind Faith in Charlotte Magazine, Jan. 2009
Backpacker Magazine (October 2010) picked the top 10 miles of North America's most memorable hikes in their article Perfect 10--Trevor was asked to contribute his impression of Mt. Whitney, CA.  He is the only blind person to have summited the peak.
Trevor was featured in Our State NC magazine in an article entitled Trail of Trust, by Jeri Rowe, who interviewed him about his AT experience (December 2009).
Blue Ridge Outdoors magazine interviewed Thomas after the AT in their Outdoor Hero segment (April 2009).
​          Trevor has appeared in numerous newspapers, including The Charlotte Observer, the  San Francisco Chronicle, The Portland Times Herald (Maine), The Oregonean, The Franklin Times (NC), and Santa Cruz Newspaper, and appeared on Charlotte Today before embarking on the Pacific Crest Trail.  Other television appearances include multiple appearances on NBC News Charlotte, Fox News (San Diego), NBC News San Diego.  He was interviewed on National Public Radio after completing the AT, and CBS radio.  National Parks Magazine interviewed Trevor while on the PCT.   
          He has given speeches to groups around the country, including Guide Dogs for the Blind, Lions Clubs International, Foundation Fighting Blindness, National Federation of the Blind, Carolinas HealthCare System, Boy Scouts of America, Keller Williams Realty, BB&T Bank, numerous high schools, churches, and veterans' organizations.   In 2012, he spoke to a sold out crowd in Charlotte, NC at a showing of the National Geographic film, America's Wild Spaces: The Appalachian Trail, in celebration of the AT's 75th year.
            He founded Team FarSight Foundation, Inc. in 2013, a 501(c)(3) charity dedicated to  teaching blind children and young adults self sufficiency in the backcountry through hiking, camping, rafting, rock climbing and other activities. Website:

Trevor appeared in a feature article (March, 2011) in the Pacific Crest Trail Communicator after his successful thru-hike of the PCT
At the 2011 Outdoor Retailer Show, Trevor gave others the chance to experience  blindness on short walks.  He is guiding Ahnu president Jim Van Dine above. He was featured in Outdoor Retailer Daily (day 2).
